Signs of Common Cat Health Problems
Cat Health Problems

Cat health problems are very important to learn about early on especially if you already have a kitten in the house. Having the right knowledge on a cat’s health makes having a cat pet easy and worry free. Health problems are normal. The important thing is that you know how to diagnose and make the needed intervention in a timely manner. You do not have to solve all your cat’s health concerns but at least you can decide what to do when trouble comes along.

One of the most painful cat health problems is urinary tract infection. Male and female cats are prone to this but male cats have the higher risks. Symptoms of this health concern are first your cat can have some problems with his control in urination. He might also fail to urinate in the litter box because he associates it with the pain he experiences every time he does so.

There can be blood in his urine and he might also intensely lick his genitals – a very clear sign of pain in the area. This can lead to a full blown kidney problem that kills most old cats if left untreated for extended periods of time. Read also: Review Of 12 Natural Home Remedies For Fleas In Cats.

Hair ball can also be a problem. This can be quite natural but sometimes if left unchecked the cat can have a very big hairball in his system that he might even need surgery t extract the it safely. If he makes a weird noise (wheezing and coughing a common association) and also have a sudden decline in appetite this can be a hairball problem. You might need to bring your cat to the vet if the cat cannot seem to take care of the problem.

Cat health problems can also include worms. You need to de-worm your cat as often as thrice every two weeks when he is still 4-10 weeks old. This can be less frequent later on in the cat’s adult life.

Diarrhea and vomiting are very common cat health problems. But these are not stand alone health issues. This can mean that there is something wrong with the cat’s body. Perhaps he ate something that is not good for him. If this would go on more than 3 days it is best that you consult your vet immediately. For more details and information about cat health, click here.
